I didn't realize I didn't leave a URL for my WordPress account!

Mooooving!

With both hesitation and excitement, I'm leaving Xanga for WordPress. Because I'm not "hyper and krazie"? And WP is prettier/cleaner/customizable. Also, Matt Mullenweg (creator of WP) won me over with his charm. Read his post -- you'll understand.

I'll be back to check your entries though, esp those of you that don't allow RSS!

Aww, Xanga, if I miss you too much I'll be back. But peace out for now!

I LOVE THIS QUARTER

I have this suuuuuper fun class, Pop Culture in Scandinavia, and the readings are interesting and the discussions are so much fun! I love Sweden! I love the way Scandinavians have superiority complexes. I love talking on and on about it with our Danish professor. Man oh man. Lovelovelove!

I like my conservation biology class 'cause I like talking about plants and animals and forests and history. I like my macroevolution class because it's a small seminar and the readings are difficult but they make me think about really big issues, like the history of the WORLD.

The other day I was discussing the mind-boggling-ness of "millions of years," and I realized that I will never know what happens after, like, 2100 (I'm gonna die when I'm 111yo, haha). DUDE!! I'm never gonna know what happens to the human race in a million years! Or what amazing crazy things will happen later! AHH duude. Just for that I wish I were religious. Maybe if I just believed in a soul. But I don't. I'm never gonna know. What if humans evolve into super humans in some hundreds of millions of years?? I want to know!! In my lifetime, we're not gonna change drastically, evolution-wise. MAN, what a bummer. Dude I'm still bummed out. Maaaaaaan.

I've been reading for all my classes and it makes me feel great to be actively involved in the class (as opposed to just going to lectures -- and sleeping through them..)!

I've been hanging out with friends a lot and doing something every day and I love it.

Today I "auditioned" for a small part in the Japanese culture night show in Feb! The quotes are because everyone gets in, haha. BUT yaaay!! I'm gonna be in the show anyway because I'm in Odori (traditional dance), but woooo, I decided to expand my comfort zone. :):)

Upper division classes are so exciting.

Ahhhhh... I can't believe it's only been 1.5 weeks since the quarter started. I've been having such a great time since last quarter ended. Winter break and winter quarter. Yeeeeee!

Conclusion: I am so dain happy!!

[/End recap]

Mmmmm, good year. Great ending to a good year! Great start of a new year!

I just had a conversation that went well in terms of understanding the person, and not well in terms of friendshipness. Mixed feelings, 'cause I'd like to be more than friends with him, perhaps? Mostly?
In general, 2009 was a year of me starting to dig guys, a lot. :D But I think this is Digging Guys Part II, 'cause I did the whole middle school crushes thing already, which is pre-figuring-myself-out. I pretty much solidified who I am, so I finally let myself just like guys, left & right. :D :D It's frustrating and extremely interesting!

Solitude

My brother called me the other day 'cause he found out that I'm in my apartment by myself and he figured I must be super lonely. It was really cute. He offered to come hang out with me and wanted to make sure that I was okay. XD Aww, Neo!

I also thought winter break might be kinda sad, being all by my lonesome. I like being alone, but being alone without a car could potentially be downright depressing. But actually, my winter break has been full of fun and friends and hanging out! Maybe I just have the bestest people in the world around me. :) Having no car sucks though, 'cause I can't just round people up for funtimes, which is what I like doing. I looove calling people up and going on an adventure, usually to eat good food, and just cruising about.

Anyway, today I was gonna pity-party, since I had nothing planned and I don't wanna be productive 'cause it's too cold, but my friend called to say hi. This friend had also been by herself, with no car, for the past week, and she just went back to her apt near school to once again be home alone, with no car, but at least within walking distance from public transportation. So she told me that she stopped pity partying and went to the mall by herself, and I realized that I was being sad for no reason. Dude man, I live in the heart of LA! There are so many places to go, things to do! What am I doing in my PJ's at 6pm, being bummed for having no car?

So, I called the one person who is always up for funtimes--MOMMY!!

We went to Santa Monica to go salsa dancing, but we needed to eat dinner first (obviously very very important). We were gonna have Wokcano sushi, but their happy hour ended at 7, so we had Real Food vegan instead, which turned out to be pretty delicious vegan stuff. And then we got to the salsa club but they turned me down 'cause it's 21 & over--only sometimes thought, we got in before!! Sooo, we went to the City of Commerce for Steven's Steakhouse salsa dancing, but it looked sad (like there were only 10 people -sad), so we went to Monterey Park for Bamboodles, which is deliiiiish noodles, but, uh it was closed (Yelp lied!! D:). So then we went to what used to be Uncle Chen's somethingsomething, but was now somethingsomethingelse. Anyway, their braised pork noodle soup was really good, but everything tasted like some sort of spice that I don't like.. cinnamon? licorice? On the way home we wanted to see LADWP's holiday lights at Griffith, but it closed at 10pm. It's okay though, 'cause when we got back to my apartment I showed Mommy my FOUR new pairs of shoes (three heels and a boot)! Conclusion: hanging out with Mommy is the bestest and man I'm glad I called her today.

I have another free day tomorrow, but I don't feel like calling any of my friends and trying to make them drive out to LA, so perhaps I will have a productive day. I should work next quarter but I'm tired of food service = gotta get those work study jobs! Maybe I'll teach English in Korea for a couple years after graduation to save money.. I hear it's a good experience and REALLY GREAT PAY. I'm down for that. AND Korean food!! Oh man, I might be more down for this idea than I realized. XD

I've been sleeping 12+ hours and hanging out after sunset. Maybe I should see the sun. Starbucks run at noon tomorrow?! Or upgrade to a nice cafe with cakes??!! Yeeeesssss.
